Non-Mermaids
I painted the original on a birthday card for my sister's 30th birthday. It complements a large painting, featuring these two characters in full view on a balcony. I'm still working on it. My sister is very understanding.
Kronos, one of the leading Australian comic-book self-publishers (Michael Michalandos/writer, and Tim McEwen/artist), asked that I do a painting of their award winning character 'Trevor Bovis' who heads the title Greener Pastures. I decided to portray Trevor in a romantic ambiguous time and setting to evoke the legend that awaits Trevor's new life experiences.
This was painted for A Movable Theatre's stage show performed at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, which featured Bruce Love in the role of the Wolf.
Erik Larsen of Image Comics asked me to paint his character the Savage Dragon with girlfriend Rapture, as a pin-up for his book. Erik wanted it sexy, and after two cumulatively rawer sketches, I finally got "it" on the third try. Bruce came up with the title that is self explanatory.
This romantic piece was done for A Movable Theatre's very funny stage show Wake-Up Beauty in the Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney.
