Julie Ditrich

Julie Ditrich

Julie was born in Sydney, Australia. She studied management at a tertiary level and obtained a Professional Writing Degree from the Canberra College of Advanced Education (now University of Canberra) in 1986 where she majored in Freelance and Script Writing, as well as Theatre/Media. In Sydney she helped coordinate a children's literature program called Aloud in the Park and Aloud in the Powerhouse for two years. Havng worked in the book industry as a retailer, publicist and marketing manager, she now works as the Publications Manager at the Australian Society of Authors where she writes, commissions and edits publications on the profession of authorship. Julie also ran a clinical hypnotherapy and PSH Therapy practice in Sydney for over 10 years. Last year she completed her first novel Shadow of the Ba Ka, and has just started writing her second novel.

Bruce Love

Bruce Love

Bruce was born in Sydney, Australia. In 1985 Bruce undertook a three year professional acting course at the Q Theatre, Sydney, graduating in 1987. Since then he has appeared in many film, television and theatre productions around Australia including shows at the Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Belvior Street Theatre and at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. He has acted in three short films and most recently appeared in guest roles on Home and Away and Water Rats. Bruce has also co-produced, co-written and acted in several plays for childrens theatre including stage adaptations of the award-winning Australia young readers novels Pigs Might Fly (by Emily Rodda) and So Much To Tell You (by John Marsden). Bruce has directed a stage production of The Insect Play (by the Capek Brothers) and has adapted and directed two short stories by Guy de Maupassant, In the Bedroom and A Ruse for a theatrical season entitled Love and Fidelity.

Jozef Szekeres

Jozef Szekeres

Jozef was born in Sydney, Australia. After high school he completing a year of Composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before making the decision to forego his music studies and pursues a career in art. He joined Walt Disney Animation Australia as an animator in 1989. Jozef has worked on many of Disneys television series and has been a senior animator on several video features including Aladdin: King of Thieves, Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea and Lady and the Tramp II: Scamps Adventure. Most recently, Jozef worked on Peter Pan II: Return to Neverland, which Disney hopes to release in theatres in 2002. He has also sculpted maquettes of the lead Disney characters for the studio. Jozef has worked as a freelance animator for many of the major Australian commercial production companies including Film Graphics, Mud Fish and Flix Animation. As a comic book artist his work has been published in several Australian independent comics including Oblagon and Platinum Grit. He has been a guest artist on two issues of Safety-Belt Man and the artist for a back-up story in Dawn: Return of the Goddess (Issue #3) for Sirius Entertainment. In 1996 Jozef painted the OzCon V Australian Comic Convention poster and also painted numerous centrefolds for Australian and USA comic book publishers including Aria Press, Highbrow Entertainment and Image Comics. In 1998 Jozef was appointed as a mascot design consultant and the maquette sculptor for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Jozef was also a conceptual designer on the feature film, Dark City.
